for Excellence in Nursing

Welcome to the Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing, Connecticut's largest statewide nursing recognition program.

This is an exciting year for the Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing program as we celebrate our 10th anniversary! The Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing program was originally developed by the Visiting Nurse Association of South Central CT (VNA/SCC) to be a collaborative effort to celebrate outstanding nurses and elevate the nursing profession. The goals of the program are to encourage retention, inspire future nurses, focus public attention and recognize the breadth and scope of nursing practice at the local level. In 2003, the Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing grew to include Programs in Eastern Connecticut, Fairfield County and Hartford, as well as the original program in New Haven.

Additionally, the Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing program provides scholarships to local nursing students in the spirit of the Nightingale Awards.
